Corona, and a Cosmos in need of a Cure...

Corona Virus has had a huge impact on every aspect of our lives. People have lost their jobs, Flights have been cancelled, businesses have been shut down, family members have been unable to physically meet each other. Religious gatherings have been cancelled. Sports activities have been cancelled. Cinemas, theaters and parks have been closed. Hundreds of thousands of people have been infected, thousands have lost their loved ones and have been unable even to attend the funeral. People in many countries around the world have had no choice but to stay home for weeks….
Corona has brought the best in humanity to the fore:
The selfless doctors, nurses and other medical workers who are at the front line of the battle against the virus, self-sacrificially taking care of hundreds of patients every day and sometimes losing their own lives.
Police Officers who try their best to enforce the restriction of movement in cities to protect the citizens.
Pastors and preachers who spend a long time preparing their sermons, thinking how they can minister to the congregation members during this time, and how they can take care of those who are hungry, poor and unemployed.
The supermarket cashiers who have to work harder than before, having to serve many more customers all day long.
We have witnessed instances of true love:

People who do what they can to cheer up their fellow citizens:

People who go out of their way to show appreciation for doctors and nurses:

Corona has brought the worst in humanity to the fore too:
People who rush to supermarkets and empty shelves of bread, egg, rice, toilet paper, etc, indifferent to the plight of people who would come after them. Pictures of elderly sadly looking at the empty shelves of market are heartbreaking.
People who consistently ignore the government guidelines, travel to other cities for fun, refuse to stay home, have no regard for other citizens, their lives and health.
Religious fanatics who want to show to the world that they are immune by engaging in stupid activities:
Men licking religious shrines in defiance of coronavirus spread.
People who want to attract more followers on social media by doing other stupid things (Licking toilet seats which turned into a challenge):
Corona has also revealed the depth of human depravity:
Directors of Planned Parenthood, the center for murdering millions of innocent babies are angry and cannot accept that even for a short time, they will not be able to murder more babies!
Corona has changed how we do our daily/weekly activities:
Corona has forced many to use conferencing app to communicate with their families, colleagues and friends. Many who disliked face-to-face communications are now longing for it.
Corona has (thankfully) caused many to start washing their hands with soap/hand sanitizer!
Corona has had an impact on the church:
Corona has caused most church services to be cancelled and instead the pastors/musicians preach/play songs online. Many people who took their freedom to attend church for granted are now longing for the day they can gather together and meet their brothers and sisters physically.
Corona has exposed all the faith-healers for the conmen that they are. I have not seen or heard of any churches that used to hold healing services to run such services now! I wonder why!
Corona has given some “pastors” a new reason to let their imagination fly higher than before and come up with all sorts of “prophecies” and solutions to the problem of Corona virus:
A pastor said he had a vision and it was revealed to him that in Covid19, Co is for “coming” vid is for “King David”! and 19 in Hebrew means coming close to God!!! He had prophesied that the virus will disappear on 12th of April which is Easter!

Many Pastors suggest reading Psalm 91 repeatedly as if there is some sort of magical power in those words that will keep them safe. I find it rather ironic that Satan quoted Psalm 91:11-12 to tempt Jesus to jump, telling Him God will protect Him!
Corona affects everyone. It does not matter how old you are, what your educational background is, what your marital status is, what your job is, how much money or how many bank accounts you have, how big your house is, what your favorite pronoun is, and with what gender you identify. It does not matter if you are a member of royal family or a poor homeless man. It does not matter if you are a celebrity or a famous football player. Corona virus does not care!
All human pride, all human achievements, all technological advances, all armies, all weapons, have all come to nothing in the battle against this virus. They mean nothing!
Corona has forced man to face his mortality, hundreds of people die everyday. Death one of the last remaining taboos in our societies, which many of us try not to think about or even mention it, is now a bitter reality which is very close to us. Fear of death has crept into the minds of millions.
Corona is not the only thing that can bring about our death. Even if scientists come up with a vaccine/cure for Corona, there are thousands of things that can cause us to die: Wars, accidents, diseases, natural disasters, or simply old age.
We live in a fallen world. We may be able to thwart Corona but ultimately we cannot defeat death. We may be able to postpone death but we cannot run away from it forever. Death will come to all of us one way or another. All our technological advances and scientific discoveries are and will be unable to defeat death.
The solution is not to hold on to our lives firmly trying to make every second count! The solution is not closing our eyes to the reality of death and go on with our lives thinking it will never come to us. The solution is not in trying our best to be a good person hoping God will reward us with eternal life in heaven!
The solution to death is to cling on to the only person who has conquered death: Jesus Christ!
Our greatest problem is not Corona, it is not sickness. Our greatest problem is sin. Our greatest need is not a cure for Corona, it is not healing. It is forgiveness. It is being reconciled to God. The first thing Jesus said to the paralytic man whose friends removed the roof to end him down was “Your sins are forgiven”. Because if that man was healed but he did not stand in the right relationship with His creator, his healing would have meant nothing!
And our greatest problem has been dealt with...on the Cross... Jesus Christ died on the cross to bear the holy and righteous wrath of God that you and I deserved, so now we have the guarantee that if we have faith in Him, our sins have been forgiven. He lived a perfect sinless life (the life that we should have lived but are unable to) so that one day if we have faith in Him we would stand before God clothed in the righteousness of Christ. He victoriously rose again from the dead so now we have the guarantee that if we trust Him, we would also be raised back to life, not like Lazarus to die again later, but to life in eternity in a world where there is no Corona, no sickness, no sorrow and no evil.
If you are afraid of Corona, if you are afraid of death, come to Jesus, trust in Him, worship Him.
If you are a Christian and are worried about the health of your loved ones, remember that Corona is not their biggest problem. Wearing masks and washing their hands by sanitizers can prevent them from getting infected but death one way or another is ultimately inevitable. If you are concerned about their health, you should be way more concerned about the disease that affects every human heart. Sin is like a cancer that has infected the entire beings of humans. There is only one cure for that and it is the person of Jesus, His death and resurrection. Tell them about Jesus...
